Truffle Hunt

This practice is not so widespread or professionally performed in Bulgaria. Of course, some people are professionally involved in it.
Though not in person, we would like to introduce you to Plamen Dimitrov and Betty from Tryavna.
We were warned that it was not the right season, and yet we travelled all the way from Varna to Tryavna, to get a better idea of that practice.

After we finally arrived, we settled in a place 1-2 km away from Tryavna. We woke up early the next morning and drove to the nearby forests and some other areas. Unfortunately, we found just a few truffles, but nevertheless, we are happy with our visit.

Plamen is an expert in truffle hunting, so he presented to us different truffle varieties, as well as some facts about the right seasons for truffle hunting, etc.
