This year Christmas came earlier to Varna and brought aromatic sweets, various culinary specialties and gluehwine. Delicious food prepared at the moment, music and good mood awaited Varna residents at Chefs’ Street Market – Christmas Edition.

For ten days, residents and guests of the sea capital enjoyed the author’s Christmas offerings at the stand of Culinary Arts Institute – a gourmet reading of the classic Bulgarian dish of beans with pork belly and vegetarian steamed buns with pickled winter vegetables. For a sweet finish, there were “blondie” with white chocolate and pumpkin seeds and Cafe de Hoya – Mexican cinnamon coffee with star anise and brown sugar.

And since Christmas is a time when we open our hearts, when the good triumphs and smiles brighten everyone`s face, Culinary Arts Institute together with Chefs’ Street Market and Lagarde, added an even warmer and more festive atmosphere delighting all the visitors with Gingerbread houses workshop.

Children and their parents (it’s arguable who were happier) created real masterpieces of Gingerbread cookies that were decorated colorful, to bring an extra Christmas atmosphere at home. Mentors in the assembly and decoration were our Culinary Programmes Director Hugues Boutin, Chef Instructor Vasil Yakimov, Chef Instructor Stanislav Kubarev and Chef Instructor Kaloyan Kolev, as well as students of the Culinary Arts Institute at Varna University of Management.

They all had fun together, while supporting a charitable cause. All funds raised at the amount of 915 BGN will be donated to the Sunny House Daily Care Center – Varna, which helps families of young people with multiple disabilities in their day care.

A special guest of the event was Santa Claus himself, who evoked even more smiles and festive spirit, and the more observant visitors noticed that he wore the same glasses as Chef Filip Spasov 🙂

A good start of the Holiday Season. Wishing wonderful and warm holidays to everyone!
