The students of the Culinary Arts Institute, part of the Varna University of Management, are ready for the next edition of the long-awaited event, Food Innovation Exhibition, taking place on January 22, 2025. This event is part of the practical module “Innovation and Creativity in Culinary Arts” and promises to once again surprise and inspire with unconventional culinary creations, combining fresh ideas and exciting flavors.

The students participating in this module study “Gastronomy and Culinary Arts” and “Hospitality and Culinary Arts.” Their task is to present original products developed with a focus on innovation, creativity, and sensory experiences in culinary arts. This year, we leave the projects to surprise you on the day of the event.

This event also serves as an examination for the students within the designated module. It will take place in the training restaurant of the Culinary Arts Institute, located on the second floor of the Varna University of Management building. Each student will have their own stand to present their product to an expert jury, which includes Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maya Ivanova, Assist. Prof. Eng. Irina Petkova, and the Program Director and Head Chef-Instructor of CAI, Hugues Boutin. Representatives from “Metro Academy” will also participate in the evaluation process, awarding special prizes to the three most promising products.

The event has limited access and is not open to the general public. It is exclusively intended for media representatives, culinary industry professionals, university partners, and students’ close relatives.

What sets the education at the Culinary Arts Institute apart is its practical orientation, innovative approach, and strong connection to the culinary industry. From the very beginning of their education, students gain valuable experience and knowledge that prepare them for the real working environment. Under the guidance of their chef instructors, students participate in various internal events, such as dinners and masterclasses, as well as external activities, including exhibitions, charitable initiatives, fairs, and competitions both in Bulgaria and abroad.

The Food Innovation Exhibition is not just an exam or another student showcase—it’s a platform for them to demonstrate what they have achieved during their three years at the Culinary Arts Institute and to prove what a promising future awaits them as the next leaders in the culinary industry. They will highlight the importance of innovation in modern gastronomy and showcase their extraordinary ideas.
