  3. A Day of Culinary Inspiration at PGT “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” – Burgas

At the Culinary Arts Institute, we take great pride in seeing our students grow, refine their skills, and inspire the next generation of culinary professionals. That is why it was an absolute pleasure for our team to visit PGT Tourism “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” in Burgas, one of Bulgaria’s leading high schools specializing in hospitality and culinary arts.

This visit was particularly meaningful, as we were accompanied by several of our students who are alumni of the high school. Returning to their roots, they had the chance to showcase their progress, reconnect with their former teachers, and share their journey with current students eager to follow in their footsteps.

An Exquisite Culinary Demonstration

As part of the event, our team presented a carefully curated three-course tasting experience, featuring a combination of modern culinary techniques and refined flavors:

Amuse-boucheHummus with smoked salmon, prepared by our first-year student Toma Goranov. His dish set the tone for the experience, showcasing a balance of textures and flavors that elevated a simple classic into a gourmet bite.

Main CourseDuck with chocolate and coffee, crafted by Hugh Bulten, our Program Director and Head Chef Instructor. The combination of rich, savory duck, the depth of chocolate, and the aromatic intensity of coffee demonstrated advanced culinary techniques and ingredient pairing at its finest.

DessertMango purée in an elegant composition, created by Maria Pehlivanova, a student who has already established herself as a promising chef. The dish was not only a visual delight but also a perfect example of fruit-based dessert innovation.

Throughout the demonstration, the students of PG Tourism “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” were introduced to advanced molecular gastronomy techniques, which brought a modern, interactive element to the experience. Seeing their enthusiasm and curiosity was a testament to the importance of bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world industry expertise.

Inspiring the Future of Culinary Arts

One of the most rewarding aspects of this visit was the opportunity for our students to share their personal experiences with the high schoolers. From discussing their transition into higher culinary education to explaining the importance of hands-on training, our alumni served as role models for those aspiring to build a career in gastronomy.

The event was attended by students from different grade levels, and their engagement, insightful questions, and excitement reaffirmed the strong interest in professional culinary education. It was an enriching experience for all involved, and we are grateful for the warm welcome extended by the school’s faculty and students.

A Commitment to Culinary Excellence

At the Culinary Arts Institute, we believe in nurturing talent and fostering a deep passion for the culinary craft. Through initiatives like this, we strive to provide young chefs with not only the skills but also the inspiration to push boundaries and elevate gastronomy to new heights.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with PGT “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov” and many other institutions that share our commitment to excellence in culinary education. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this visit a success!

To all future chefs – keep creating, keep innovating, and never stop learning!
